Send an emergency alert
Platform: ResiConnect ยท For: Executive Director, Activities, Wellness
Use this only for a real emergency. It can't be unsent. For a life-threatening situation, call 911 first and follow your community's emergency plan.
- Open Community and select Announcements.
- Select New announcement.
- Under Quick templates, select Fire or building emergency or Severe weather, or write your own.
- Replace all text in [brackets].
- Set Priority to Emergency.
- Select Send emergency alert.
- Read the summary and select Send emergency alert again.
What residents see
- The alert goes out right away by app notification and email.
- It reaches residents even if they turned notifications off.
- It stays at the top of their Home page until they select I've read this. They can't choose to be reminded later.
Check who has read it
Find the announcement card and look at Acknowledged. It shows the count and percent. Check on anyone who hasn't responded in person or by phone.
Good to know
- Emergencies can't be scheduled.
- The alert goes to residents living here at the selected community. Check the community picker before you send.
- Some residents may have no email on file. The card shows this.
- ResiConnect doesn't replace your emergency call system or alarms.
If something goes wrong
If an alert won't send, use your community's usual emergency procedures first. Then choose Help & support with the priority I can't work, or email support@resionboarding.com.
